Happy August to all of you... it was so much fun being able to take this photo outdoors. It's absolutely beautiful in Minnesota right now. The colors are already changing some.
This year, the farmer planted corn behind our house so I used it as a background for this gorgeous card! So fun!! I absolutely love to take a piece of plain Whip Cream cardstock and create something magical. This card looks hard, but it's very simple indeed. Let me walk through it step by step.
First, you will need the following pieces of cardstock (I am including the measurements)
Step One: Stamp Grid Paper image onto the piece of 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 Whip Cream cardstock using True Color Fusion Pool Play Ink and our NEW Grid Paper Stamp. It's okay to not stamp it perfectly, it creates a fun collage when there is a variation in color.
Step Two: Using the NEW Cement Tile Stencil and True Color Fusion Haystack Ink, first you will want to apply the ink using a Large Dauber randomly with the stencil, then with a tad of ink, apply ink to areas in circular motion still using your dauber (without the stencil). Remember, it will dry lighter so don't be worried if it is too dark. You can always add Whip Cream ink to the top to tone it down if needed. It takes practice to apply lightly.
Step Three: I stamped the butterflies using True Color Fusion Beach Breeze Ink AND True Color Fusion Haystack Ink using our beautiful stamp set, Small Things (two of them will be covered with your colored images). I did not stamp the bottom right hard so I was able to continue with imperfection. For me, a well completed collage background, should be imperfect.
Step Four: Stamp the sentiments using True Color Fusion Cocoa Powder Ink as shown and the NEW Humble & Kind stamp set.
Step Five: Stamp two butterflies on a scrap of Whip Cream cardstock with True Color Fusion Black Licorice Ink. Color your images using our AMAZING Color Burst pencils, I used 08; 016; 025; 028 and 031. To create the right yellow, I first colored with #016, then a layer of #08 over it. I finished the blues with a layer of #031 to really make the blue pop. (I learned this trick from a fellow coach and love it). I used to end with a black, but I like how #031 looks on top of the blues. Feel free to use other colors of choice, the beauty of art is making it your own. Hand cut the images, using your Detailed Pro Shears closely leaving no white. Adhere with our AMAZING Journey Craft glue (best adhesive ever).
Step Six: Assemble your card, finish with yellow Sweet Candy Drops and Black Licorice Silk.
