HELLO Mates! It's me! How are you? I thought I would share what happened last week. Myself and 6 other leaders from the 2015-16 Leadership team, were invited to an all-inclusive trip to Richard & Gabby Garay’s home in Arizona. They opened their home to host our Winter Leadership Retreat.. It was absolutely AMAZING. I am still in awe. We ate, we learned, we laughed, we ate, we learned.... (okay, you get the drift). Smiles.
The Garay home was all decked out for the holidays. Richard pulled an all-niter to pull it off. Crazy guy!! It was absolutely gorgeous. He normally does 5 Christmas trees, this year it will be 3. The family tree was not done yet, as the boys need to help. I was so lucky to room with Kristina Deyette, we had fun giggling from time to time. She is a peach (or a flamingo from Florida). I am also sharing a photo of my favorite meal of the trip. Ms Gabby made a delicious Chicken Alfredo, I need to get her recipe.
While we were in Arizona, we were able to spend a good part of one of our days at the Journey Station, we sat with various crew members to learn the everyday life of a crew member. There is so much that goes into making the operation run smoothly.
Of course, my favorite was hanging out in the warehouse with Ms. Kimber. Kimber will always hold a special place in my heart as she was the first staff member who helped me get started. Still to this day she is my number one cheerleader.
While we were at the station, we also got to have a Mickey party. My downline Julie has already earned the incentive trip FSJ offers to coaches. I am on track to earning it as well. Hopefully, I will join her and all the others who still have time to earn it. Here are a few pictures of our time at the Journey Station. A huge thank you to the crew who works long, tiring hours so we can be successful in the field. Oh, I almost forgot to mention we got to sit in on a conference call with the 7 directs-- it was filled with so much inside info on what is coming in the New Year. SO fun!
HEY, did I mention we ate? We ate out for 3 meals. First stop was the Mission, it was a Mexican restaurant. The food was delish. Homemade Guacamole made to order. Nom nom! We also ate at Logan's Roadhouse (see pictures below). Again delish. Our third meal out was at The Club. It was a country club/golfcourse. It was also delish! I enjoyed visiting with Dan Arwine and Kathy Martin (one of our FABULOUS designers).
A gathering would not be complete without some craft time. We received a Journey bag full of products and all the fixin's to make 3 cards and a gift box. We had another crafting session and made two months of calendars for our wood easels (small JM-0061, large M-0062) It was fun to work in the infamous Richard Garay craft studio.
Below are the three cards we made.. It was SO much fun as we were able to see more of the products that will ...that will be released January 1st. It was also fun to take photos of my cards at the infamous dining room table that has been used for MANY of the FSJ photos. Smiles.
We had a movie night. Prior to the movie Richard and Gabby gave a a BIG super soft blue blanket with the FSJ logo. I completely forgot to get a photo. Instead here are my Pigtails and PJ's I wore to the party. I also put on my Mickey ears, bc I wanted to be like Jules. :-) It was fun to be a "little girl" for the evening. I had to pose in front of the fireplace because I did not have a fireplace as a child.
Next up, Gifts! There were a lot of them. It still feels so surreal that I was spoiled so much. Not used to being on the receiving end of gift giving.
We did a card exchange. The theme was Valentines. One rule, use CURRENT FSJ products. Naughty RG, used new products not available YET. Nobody complained because we were able to see more of what is coming.
Our last meeting was held on our departure day. We met in the morning. Richard asked us to share one thing we were going to take away from our time together. I ended up going last. For me, I took away that I am a team leader, and I need to be one to ALL levels of my downline. As coaches we have several uplines and should be able to reach out to any of them as needed. I want to be available for everyone on my team. As we answered, Richard gave us each a departing gift...a cactus Christmas ornament that he signed. It will be placed on my tree every year to remind me of the AMAZING time we had together.
Thank you Lord for allowing me to travel safely to and from Arizona Thank you to my hubby and daughter for taking care of things at home. Thank you Richard, Gabby, Greg, Nicole and Dan-- you all have empowered me to be THE Journey, with #nofears. Thank you to my wonderful downline and sidelines, you make me who I am, a cheerleader and ambassador of FSJ. As for my leadership Sistahs, you will always, always, always hold a very special place in my heart. I love you all!
Be the Journey,
